Outokumpu provides corrosion-resistant, high-performance stainless steel grades, backed by decades of expertise in the nuclear sector. An ideal material for nuclear reactors—including large-scale, SMRs, and micro-modular designs— stainless steel is widely used in pipework, tanks, vessels, pools, filters, and waste containers. Its exceptional corrosion resistance ensures long service life with minimal maintenance.
Since the 1960s, we have supplied stainless steels for nuclear reactors. Austenitic stainless steels in both standard grades and special grades to nuclear specifications are generally used in reactors. Outside the nuclear island duplex grades are growing in popularity.
Our dedicated nuclear project team ensures strict quality assurance, testing, and documentation, meeting standards such as the French RCC-M. Materials produced in accordance with USA nuclear code ASME III are available when supply can be approved by the customer.
